After much careful deliberation, the Annual Scientific Meeting of ISHA, “ISHA 2020”, originally scheduled to take place in Ottawa, Canada on 1st to 3rd October is postponed until 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The ongoing uncertain global situation, restrictions on travel, and social distancing measures put in place by governments have all added to the decision to postpone our annual scientific meeting.

This decision, recommended by the ISHA Board and supported by Ottawa Host Chair Paul Beaulé, Program Chair John Clohisy and event organizer, Open Audience Events Ltd., was taken to protect the health and wellbeing of our delegates, industry partners, faculty, sponsors and staff.

Ottawa and the Shaw Centre have been excellent in managing this postponement with us and we are delighted to announce that the  rescheduled conference in 2021, will still take place at the

Shaw Centre, Ottawa, Canada

from Tuesday 12th October to Friday 15th October 2021

We would like to thank you for your understanding and look forward to your joining us in person in Ottawa in 2021.  Between now and then, we invite you to participate in ISHA’s upcoming virtual educational events, and to attend future scientific meetings in which ISHA is a supporting partner. Over the coming weeks, we will update you on these rewarding virtual and live opportunities to reconnect, share ideas, and innovate around hip preservation surgery.  Further information will be communicated on these special opportunities for the ISHA membership and to those who have already submitted ICL proposals and Abstract submissions for the ISHA 2020 ASM. As indicated on our websites, both the Call for Abstracts and the Application for ISHA Trainee Awards will be kept open until April 15 and April 30, 2020, respectively. ISHA is planning virtual presentations of the “Best Papers” and the Trainee Awards in early  October 2020 that were originally submitted for this year’s ASM in Ottawa.

Our thoughts are with those affected by Covid-19 and we would like to thank our friends and colleagues all over the world who are tirelessly working to combat this pandemic – WE THANK YOU.

Please stay safe and well,

The ISHA Board
