Paul E. Beaulé
Host Chair
ISHA 2021

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is with regret that we have had to announce the cancellation of the planned ISHA Annual Scientific Meeting, that was to have been held in Ottawa from 13 – 15 October 2021.

Unfortunately, due to a COVID third wave occurring in Canada, and an as yet to be completed vaccination campaign, the lock down and closed borders in Canada have resulted in a face-to-face meeting in Ottawa being impossible this year.

ISHA is a community, and the Local Host Team and the ISHA Executive Board have agreed that after the turmoil of the last 15 months, it was important (if safe and feasible) in 2021 to have some form of in-person meeting without exposing our Society, our members and our supporters to the upheaval of having to cancel the Annual Scientific Meeting at the last minute, if by October the current position in Canada has not eased.

Working closely with our incoming president Al Stubbs, combining our forces with OrthoSummit in Las Vegas
in December offers us a winning combination, with in-person meetings having already resumed in the US. With the continuing opening of borders expected in the coming weeks, we are confident that we can provide an environment where many if not all ISHA members can come together this year.

To find out more about this year’s Combined Meeting with OrthoSummit, please explore the other pages of this website and/or visit the OrthoSummit website.

ISHA physician members in good standing can obtain a preferential registration rate for the Combined Meeting, representing a saving of between USD$400 – USD$600 on the advertised registration rates if registering prior to 11th November 2021. Contact the ISHA Executive Office at info@ishaconference.com to obtain the Discount Coupon Code.

I am sure we will have another opportunity to Welcome you in Canada’s Capital, Ottawa in the years to come.

À la prochaine fois!
