The app will allow participants to navigate through the entire scientific programme from their mobile device, view sessions by day and category, access the abstracts being presented, locate exhibitors and to create a personalised itinerary. Notification will be sent closer to the start date for ISHA 2019 instructing how to download the app.
Access to ISHA 2019 is only possible with your personal name badge. Please always wear your badge! The Registration Desks will be located in the Convention Centre Level One Foyer at MCEC, Melbourne.
Normal bank opening hours in Spain are 8:30 am to 2:00 or 2:30pm, Monday to Friday. Some banks like Santander and Bankia will have a late evening opening one evening a week, often on a Thursday, and will usually open on Saturday mornings from 9:30am or 9:00am until 12:00 or 1:00pm, but only in the winter from October to May. Currency exchanges are located at airports, banks and major hotels, and the currency is the Euro of which there are seven different denominations of banknotes: €5, €10, €20, €50, €100, €200 and €500. The euro coin series comprises eight different denominations: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cent, €1 and €2. The Euro is generally stable, but we recommend you check the exchange rate prior to your departure.

An application has been made to the UEMS EACCME for CME accreditation of this event.
For any name change, a fee of US $50 is charged. Onsite changes of name badges or email addresses for the certificate mailing due to incorrect submission will be charged US $10.
Madrid can be very hot in the summer, and very cold in the winter, but by October the temperature is generally between 11° & 19° Celsius.

Most hotels, large restaurants and shops will accept international credit cards, the most widely recognised being American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa. Automatic teller machines are plentiful and situated throughout the city.
The International Society of Hip Arthroplasty 2019 ASM including the Conference Organisers will not accept liability for the damages of any nature sustained by participants or their accompanying persons for loss or damage to their personal property as a result of the International Society of Hip Arthroplasty 2019 ASM and exhibition or related events.
In Spain the standard voltage is 230 V and the frequency is 50 Hz. You can use your electric appliances in Spain, if the standard voltage in your country is in between 220 – 240 V (as is in the UK, Europe, Australia and most of Asia and Africa). Manufacturers take these small deviations into account. If the standard voltage in your country is in the range of 100 V – 127 V (as is in the US, Canada and most South American countries), you need a voltage converter in Spain. You can also consider a combined power plug adapter/voltage converter.

Vaccinations are not required unless you have come from a yellow fever- infected country zone within six days prior to your arrival. As a developed country, Spain has fewer health risks than many destinations, but, there is still some risk and The CDC and WHO recommend the following vaccinations for Spain: hepatitis A, hepatitis B, rabies, meningitis, polio, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis), chickenpox, shingles, pneumonia and influenza. Spain has a high standard of hygiene and doctors and dentists are highly trained and hospitals are well equipped. In the event of illness, hotel staff can arrange a doctor for you.
The industrial exhibition is located in the Patio Halls on the ground floor of the Meliá Castilla. International companies will display their latest products, services and technical innovations.
It is strongly recommended that delegates take out adequate travel and health insurance prior to commencement of travel. Further information can be obtained from your travel agent.
Delegate registration fees do not provide any such insurance coverage. The Organising Committee and the ISHA Conference Office accept no responsibility for any loss in this regard.
The congress language is English. Simultaneous translation is not provided.
The Organising Committee and/or the International Society of Hip Arthroplasty 2019 ASM Organisers shall not be held liable for personal accidents or losses or damage to private property of registered delegates of the International Society of Hip Arthroplasty 2019.
Coffee breaks are included in the registration fee and will be served in the exhibition area. Lunch is included on Thursday and Friday.

Accredited journalists are welcome to cover ISHA 2019. Upon presentation of your press identification, registration will be free of charge. Please refer to the Registration section of the website for information on how to obtain press registration.
The registration area and help desk in the auditorium foyer will provisionally be available during the following opening hours: Wednesday 8:00-19:00 Thursday & Friday 7:30 to 18:30; Saturday 7:30 to 13:00.

Spain applies a tax of 21% to the purchase of both goods and services called IVA. Tax will be added to registration fees on “checkout”. Non-EU delegates may be eligible for a refund of IVA via the Tourist Refund Scheme for any goods purchased whilst in Australia.
Please note that the Tourist Refund Scheme is only available for goods and not for services, therefore you will not be able to claim the IVA paid on your registration fees via the TRS. For more information, please visit the TRS Application website.
Tipping is not as widespread or regulated in Spain as it is in other parts of the world. Tipping is your prerogative, a reward for service. It is customary to tip hotel porters 1 or 2 euros per bag, and a gratuity of about 5- 10% is usual in restaurants if good service is received. NO service charge is added to hotel or restaurant bill.
The Event Organisers reserve the right to cancel any activities relating to the ISHA 2019 Annual Scientific Meeting if there are insufficient registrations. Also, at any time, without notice and without giving reasons, the Event Organisers may cancel or postpone the Event, change the venue or any published timetables, activities, presenters or particulars without being liable for any loss, damage or expense incurred or suffered by any person.
Travel and Accommodation:
The Event Organisers are not themselves carriers or hoteliers nor do we own hotels or coaches. The coach journeys and hotel accommodation herein are provided by reputable carriers and hoteliers on their own conditions. It is important to note, therefore, that all bookings with the Event Organisers are subject to terms and conditions and limitations of liability imposed by hoteliers and all other service providers who services we utilise, some of which limit or exclude liability in respect of death, personal injury, delay and loss or damage to baggage.
The Event Organisers cannot accept any liability whatever nature for acts, omissions or default, whether negligent or otherwise of those coach operators, hoteliers, and other persons providing services in connection with the Course pursuant to a contract between themselves and yourself (which may be evidenced in writing by the issue of a ticket, voucher, coupon or the like) and over whom we have no direct and exclusive control.
The Event Organisers do not accept any liability in contract or in tort (actionable wrong) for any injury, damage, loss, delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by force majeure or other events which are beyond our control, or which are not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part including but not limited to war, civil disturbance, fire, floods, unusually severe weather, acts God, act of government or any authorities, accidents to or failure of machinery or equipment or industrial action (whether or not involving our employees and even though such action may be settled by acceding to the demands of a labour group).
