The app will allow participants to navigate through the entire scientific program from their mobile device: view sessions by day and category, access the abstracts being presented, locate exhibitors and create a personalised itinerary. Notification will be sent closer to the start date for ISHA 2020 with instructions on how to download the app.
Access to ISHA 2020 is only possible with your personal name badge. Please always wear your badge! The Registration Desks will be located 0n the 2nd Level of the Shaw Centre.
Normal bank opening hours in Canada are 8:30/09.00 to 17.00. Monday to Friday. Some banks will have limited opening hours on a Saturday, but this varies from branch to branch.
Currency exchanges are located at airports, banks and major hotels, and the currency is the Canadian Dollar of which there are five different denominations of banknotes: $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100. The Canadian coin series comprises six different denominations: 5¢, 10¢, 25¢, 50¢, $1, and $2. The Canadian Dollar is generally stable, but we recommend you check the exchange rate prior to your departure.
The Shaw Centre is very centrally located in downtown Ottawa, Ontario, Canada’s Capital. It is within walking distance of over 6,000 downtown Ottawa hotel rooms, numerous attractions and landmarks, and the ByWard Market. Twenty minutes away from the Ottawa International Airport, the Centre is directly linked to the Westin Ottawa Hotel and the 180-store Rideau Centre shopping complex.
The parking nearest to Shaw Centre is a 2-storey underground facility providing 730 spaces. It is a fully-staffed facility with two entrances located on Daly Avenue and Nicholas Street South. The three exits are located on Nicholas Street South. Entry points to both the Shaw Centre and the Rideau Centre shopping complex are located on both levels on the north and west walls. There are four handicap spaces per level located on the north wall near the Rideau Centre entrances.
The parking is a fully-automated multi-level facility. There is an ambassador patrolling the pay stations and entry and exit points on a 24-hour basis.

For any name change, a fee of USD 50 is charged. Onsite changes of name badges or email addresses for the certificate mailing due to incorrect submission will be charged USD 10.
Ottawa can be hot in the summer, and very cold in the winter, but by October the temperature is generally between 3° & 15° Celsius with an average of around 9° Celsius with average of 16 days of rain in October. You will also be able to experience the beautiful fall colours in October.

Most hotels, large restaurants and shops will accept international credit cards, the most widely recognized being American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa. Automatic teller machines are plentiful and situated throughout the city.
The International Hip Preservation Society 2020 ASM, including the Conference Organisers, will not accept liability for damages of any nature sustained by participants or their accompanying persons for loss or damage to their personal property as a result of the International Hip Preservation Society 2020 ASM and exhibition or related events.
In Canada the standard voltage is 120 V and the frequency is 60 Hz. You can use your electric appliances in Canada , if the standard voltage in your country is between 100 V – 127 V (as in the US, Canada and most South American countries). Manufacturers take these small deviations into account. If the standard voltage in your country is in the range of 220 – 240 V (as in the UK, Europe, Australia and most of Asia and Africa), you need only a power plug adapter.

You should be up to date on routine vaccinations while traveling to any destination. Some vaccines may also be required for travel. Vaccinations are not required unless you have come from a yellow fever- infected country zone within six days prior to your arrival. As a developed country, Canada has fewer health risks than many destinations, but, there is still some risk and the CDC and WHO recommend the following vaccinations for all travellers: hepatitis A, hepatitis B, rabies, meningitis, polio, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis), chickenpox, shingles, pneumonia and influenza.
Canada has a high standard of hygiene, doctors and dentists are highly trained and hospitals are well equipped. In the event of illness, hotel staff can arrange a doctor for you.
The industrial exhibition is located in the Ottawa Salon on the 2nd level of the Shaw Centre. International companies will display their latest products, services and technical innovations.
It is strongly recommended that delegates take out adequate travel and health insurance prior to commencement of travel. Further information can be obtained from your travel agent.
Delegate registration fees do not provide any such insurance coverage. The Organizing Committee and the ISHA Conference Office accept no responsibility for any loss in this regard.
The congress language is English. Simultaneous translation is not provided.
The Organising Committee, the International Hip Preservation Society and / or the ISHA 2020 ASM Conference Organisers shall not be held liable for personal accidents or losses or damage to private property of registered delegates of ISHA 2020

Viewing terminals will be located in the Ottawa Salon on the 2nd Level of the Shaw Centre. Additionally, all accepted posters can be accessed via the ISHA 2020 App and on the ISHA conference website.
Accredited journalists are welcome to cover ISHA 2020. Upon presentation of your press identification, registration will be free of charge. Please refer to the Registration section of the website for information on how to obtain press registration.
The registration area and help desk in the 2nd Level will provisionally be available during the following opening hours: Wednesday 14:00-19:00 Thursday & Friday 7:30 to 18:30; Saturday 7:30 to 13:00.

Ottawa applies a tax of 13% to the purchase of both goods and services called GST/HST. Tax will be added to registration fees on “checkout”. Non-resident visitor to Canada cannot claim a rebate of the goods and services tax/harmonized sales tax (GST/HST) that you paid for all purchases made in Canada.
Gratuities/Tips are seldom included in Canadian restaurants. It is customary to tip approximately 15-20% on the total bill before tax, less for poor service, more for truly exceptional service. Many restaurants may charge an automatic 15-18% gratuity for larger groups.
The Event Organizers reserve the right to cancel any activities relating to the ISHA 2020 Annual Scientific Meeting if there are insufficient registrations. Also, at any time, without notice and without giving reasons, the Event Organizers may cancel or postpone the Event, change the venue or any published timetables, activities, presenters or particulars without being liable for any loss, damage or expense incurred or suffered by any person.
Travel and Accommodation:
The Event Organizers are not themselves carriers or hoteliers, nor do we own hotels or coaches. The coach journeys and hotel accommodation herein are provided by reputable carriers and hoteliers on their own conditions. It is important to note, therefore, that all bookings with the Event Organizers are subject to terms, conditions and limitations of liability imposed by hoteliers and all other service providers whose services we utilize. Some of these service providers limit or exclude liability in respect of death, personal injury, delay, and loss or damage to baggage.
The Event Organizers cannot accept any liability of whatever nature for acts, omissions or default, whether negligent or otherwise of those coach operators, hoteliers, and other persons providing services in connection with the ISHA 2020 ASM pursuant to a contract between themselves and yourself (which may be evidenced in writing by the issue of a ticket, voucher, coupon or the like) and over whom we have no direct and exclusive control.
The Event Organizers do not accept any liability in contract or in tort (actionable wrong) for any injury, damage, loss, delay, additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by force majeure or other events which are beyond our control, or which are not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part. These include, but are not limited to, war; civil disturbance; fire; floods; unusually severe weather; acts of God; acts of government or any authorities; accidents involving, or failure of, machinery or equipment, or industrial action (whether or not involving our employees and even though such action may be settled by acceding to the demands of a labour group).
